Not necessarily if there's code to deal with resource exhaustion.

There are situations currently that wind up with MythTV is using multiple 
muxes unnecessarily where it could use the one mux to satisfy the current 
requirements.  The patches being proposed deal with non-optimal resource usage 
in its various forms.

Also, some people prefer the simple channel up/down sequence.
