the 950Q; maybe someone else has experience with this. You could also try
googling 950Q + MythTV.

My experience with the 1800 is strictly OTA and you are using cable, so I
may have been steering you wrong; I was just reading the HVR-1800
instructions from Hauppauge to instruct you on how to hook up the cable
connection. You might try putting it on the middle connector and see what
difference that makes.

If that doesn't work any better, I would definitely remove the card and work
on getting the 950Q working properly. Remember if you do this, your device
name will change for the 950Q and you will have to delete your cards and
re-add the 950Q (leave your video sources alone). Make sure you specify a
working, valid starting channel number on the Inputs screen (I think that's
where it is). If it isn't a working channel, you might get the results you
saw.

Good luck.
