I was goofing around with mythweb and discovered that the "ASX Stream" experience is less than optimal on my Debian-equipped laptop.
See attached Perl script to make an asx file work like magic. Many of you will probably want/need to change the player option. It's right there along the top of the script.
Note that results/errors are logged to /tmp/asx-wrench.log
1. Make the script is executable and in your path (/usr/local/bin?),
2. Point your browser to your mythweb.
3. Go to a recording and click on the "ASX Stream" button.
4. Instead of attempting to open the asx file in mplayer/xine/???, point Iceweasel to /usr/local/bin/asx-wrench.
5. Make sure you click the 'remember this' option.
It should be pleasing from now on.
Let me know if there are any issues.
