[mythtv-users] 0.23 and database upgrade

It being a long slow weekend I thought I'd try upgrading 0.22 to 0.23 
(Mythbuntu 9.10)

All seemed to OK until I started the frontend. Mythtv prompted to 
upgrade the database. I confirmed. The HDD started chattering away. The 
screen went to the background colour.

That was about 12 hours ago.

It's still going. The blue background colour looks nice but lacks 
animation.

Do I panic now?
