[mythtv-users] Can't get it to work

Thanks Nick, Kevin, Mike, and everyone!  Very responsive and good
information!  I will keep trying to get MythTV to work as a side project.
On our PC/TV set-top box, The Wave at CatchTheWaveTV.com, we are trying to
include features that are valuable to average users, but they need to be
easy for users and stable.  We have invested a lot of money in developing
the product with Ubuntu, including three engineers experienced with Ubuntu.
This is the third feature that we can't offer in Linux yet (a complete TV
viewer and PVR such as Hauppauge WinTV7, plus iTunes and Netflix), which
30-50% of our audience wants, so as not to disappoint them we will offer a
version of The Wave for $60 more that includes Windows running these
programs under VM (we have tried to get these working in WINE, but not
satisfactorily).  Best regards to all and thanks again!

Kevin, I read this thread with real dismay until i saw your message.
Kudos for getting the thread on track, well done.

To some of the other posters, i am not going to read all the crap again to
point you all out, but please stick to answering the question or asking
nicely for further pertinent info. Assailing potential converts does no one
any favours, including yourself and the mythtv community.

by the way there are successful businesses built around selling boxes with
mythtv in them. Its possible, bit whether it is yet profitable may be
