I agree, but usually *anything* is better than your ISP's servers. The ISPs simply have no incentive to do a good job
here, most of their customers will never know if they do poorly, and they can steer traffic to their own search pages for
typos at the least, and at worst steer traffic to less-than-optimal sites.
In addition to changing your /etc/resolv.conf file, remember to hard code the DNS servers into your router, don't let it
pick up DNS servers from the ISP's DHCP server.
I prefer to use DNS from someone who sees it as a primary function, not as "overhead" they are forced to do, which is the
ISP view of running DNS servers.
