MythWelcome provides setting options for defining commands to:
  A) set wakeup time
  B) define the wakeup time format to supply to the wakeup command
  C) define the wakeup restart command (needed for some mobos when
using nvram-wakeup to do the waking. I use read/write to
/sys/class/rtc/rtc0/wakealarm which takes times in UTC seconds since
the "epoch" -- midnight 1/1/1970)
  D) command to reboot system -- I don't use that
  E) command to shutdown the system -- I use TuxOnIce combined with
hibernate to control all aspects of the process including killing
drivers, services, restarting them, bouncing other services, etc.
  F) a command to run an xterm -- mostly useful if you've got a
keyboard attached, or might on occasion
  G) command to launch the frontend from the MythWelcome screen

Additionally, the MythWelcome screen itself provides useful
information about what MythTV is doing and going to be doing.

Sounds like it does just what you're asking about.

Craig.
