[mythtv-users] Unable to compile mythtv-0.23.1

I'm trying to compile release ver 0.23.1 from svn under mandriva 2010.0 
(kernel 2.6.31.13-desktop-1mnb).  Running ./configure or make results in 
a tail that reads:

manualschedule.o: file not recognized: File truncated
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[2]: *** [mythfrontend] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/var/build/mythtv-0.23.1/programs/mythfrontend'
make[1]: *** [sub-mythfrontend-make_default] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/var/build/mythtv-0.23.1/programs'
make: *** [sub-programs-make_default-ordered] Error 2

What could be wrong with manualschedule.o and how can I fix it?
