Sorry, I thought I had said "in the USA", I had intended to. I'm aware 
that the "Land of the Free" is anything but, and other jurisdictions are 
more enlightened.

But, as I know I said, IANAL, and anyone worrying about legalities 
should consult one, in their own jurisdiction.

Other topics here have been discouraged because they are questionable in 
the USA, as that's where the servers are located, so I assumed the same 
rule applied.

Anyone with sufficient motivation can play BR disks today, whether it's 
worth the bother is  their own issue.
