[mythtv-users] Change brightness during playback

MythTV 0.22

General problem:
Quite often some recording are much too dark to view well.

I have googled a bit and found a few references to the keybindings to
change brightness during playback. But these posts are from 2005 and
when I try them in 0.22 they only bring up the volume control.

So this is what I found:

You need to enable picture adjustments (it's somewhere in Playback
settings) - though they aren't available in all renderers (XVideo
should be fine). If the keybindings aren't working then bring up the
OSD menu - there should be an entry for adjust picture (or similar).

I have looked all through the settings pages and can't find any
reference to the above.

To change the color (saturation), brightness, hue and contrast in the
recording press 'G' (each press will select between color, hue,
brightness and contrast) with 'Left' and 'Right' changing the value.
If you want to change the display color and not the recording then use
the 'F' command (you will need to enable it in the settings). Before
using 'G' make sure it really is the PVR-150 that has the color
problem and not your TV-out.

Neither of those keys work for me.

Looking at my own keybindings I see:

TV Playback TOGGLERECCONTROLS Recording picture adjustments for this
recorder G
TV Playback TOGGLEPICCONTROLS Playback picture adjustments F

So they look like they should do what I want (assuming it is F as the
primary control).

G does nothing when I press it (while watching the recording).
F simply brings up the Volume control.

I changed the binding to F,T and remove T from closed caption toggle.
It still only does the Volume.

Anyone have any suggestions.

Thanks,
Dave
