According to the release notes in the Avermedia 64-bit beta driver:
1.1 Supported Distributions
This version of driver installer supports kernel 2.6.17~2.6.31.
For whatever that is worth....
I would be interested to see what the Avermedia driver installation log
had to say when the installation failed:
/tmp/H826D-install.log
...
In looking at the last installer dialog screen, he appears to have
symbol issues prior to trying to set up this device.
Is it likely a remnant of the previous issues he had trying to get the
303U card running?
If so, I would be very tempted to wipe the install, and start with a
fresh ubuntu install...
Good luck, ummu!
