Works perfectly, I can even do Advanced 2X on 1080i content for some reasons..
Use Ubuntu on it...
There are a few various stuff to do to get the hardware to work
properly, like the keyboard backlight etc...
There is also one issue that when doing a reboot, it will lock the mac
and it requires a hard reboot (hold the power button a few seconds).
But this may have been fixed lately.
I mainly run linux in a VM, rarely booting ubuntu natively..
To boot the linux partition, use a tool called rEFIt
