Thanks for the tip. I had the sound out from my STB to the HD-PVR via RCA audio cable.
I switched to optical SPDIF which I believe allows AC3 sound to be muxed in (instead of AAC?).
This definitely helped and Robert's new script for hdpvr cutter worked successfully on a small recording.
I am yet to do some testing on an actual recording with cut lists.

However, since switching the audio input on my HD-PVR from RCA to spdif, now I have a new problem.
I cannot seem to change channels gracefully in Live TV. It seems Mythtv runs into problem because it takes a while
for the audio signal to stabilize from the STB. After changing to a different channel, there would be no sound.
Once I exit out from and restart Live TV, sound comes back.

Following suggestion in a previous thread on this mailing list, I added a sleep timer in my channel change script
and that partially seems to help. But with a sleep time included, the channel change process hesitates and at times
refuses to change channels on the STB. I played around with the sleep time (1,2 3, 4 secs etc) and all have problems
of some sort in changing channels.

For reference, the channel change script was working nicely when I had the audio input on HD-PVR set to RCA cable.

Any suggestions?
