Because, even though you may be using xmltv for grabbing for a lot of your 
channels, you may need EIT for others. Example, I use UK Freeview, so use the 
xmltv Radio Times grabber for all the TV channels. But there are a number of 
radio channels also broadcast for which the RT grabber doesn't (seem to) provide 
listings, so I've turned on EIT for those.
