No, not always.  Not, if if the broadcast is not flagged as requiring it.

We were talking about ways in which this box might be better than
firewire (which also can't record flagged broadcasts).  If Sillicon
Dust were to allow Linux clients to record unflagged broadcasts, and
deny all access to flagged broadcasts, then it would still be a huge
win.
