[mythtv-users] video stutter with VDPAU and 1080i DVB [some progress?]

I checked using aptitude, pulseaudio is not even installed. This was a 
fresh mythbuntu 9.10 install...

Anyway - some more info:

In alsamixer, I had "IEC958" and "IEC958 Default PCM" enabled as I 
thought they were required for digital sound output. However, I disabled 
both and found that I still got digital sound through my amp (I don't 
understand this alsamixer stuff). But the point is that I found that the 
rate of "Video is X frames behind audio" messages dropped from around 5 
times a minute to once a minute...

Dunno if this helps anyone to help me...


Since the problem appears to be audio related, here is some audio setup 
data:

- There are no /etc/asound.conf or ~/.asoundrc files installed.
