Remember the backup is a point in time solution.  If you don't find the 
parts you broke /immediately/ upon breaking it, the backup is useless 
for fixing it--unless, of course, you make matters worse by directly 
editing data in the DB and/or restoring parts of the backup or some of 
the data from the backup...

Database backups are /not/ a get out of jail free card.
