True 3D technologies, such as the holographic projection Brian
mentioned, are not the same thing as stereoscopic pseudo 3D
technologies on display now.  But don't underestimate how long this
stuff can take, even for stereoscopic displays.  I can remember my
grandfather talking about this "High Definition" television he saw and
how it was going to be everywhere.  He died in '91.
