It isn't the same stuff that was around a 10-30 years ago. There were
big changes made to the camera systems and the projection systems that
are making this possible. All these movies came out because Cameron
and others showed off what they had done, and other directors and
producers realized it doesn't suck like it used to. James Cameron and
Vince Pace just got their Fusion 3D camera they used for Avatar done
in 2006.
