[mythtv-users] Kill frontend when TV is turned off.

Another thought that I just had...

is i've seen switches that exist inline in a short extension cord.  When the
appliance that is plugged into the end of the cord stops drawing power, then
the switch turns itself off.

Along that line, you could possible build a little relay type box that you
plug your TV into that monitors its amp draw.  When it dips below a preset
level, it could send out a serial / network / USB / however creative you
feel type connection.  Or plug a UPS into it and set it to a very short
delay before sending a shut down signal (maybe 2 minutes).
