I assume one was created when I installed mythtv.
I ran the script before I ran mythtv-setup.
--verbose reported them as unknown command(s) (among other issues).
Changed the username/pw in mysql.txt and tried it.
Dropped the database and tried it with just the --create-database 
switch. Diddled around with it some more.
I'm lousy at documenting things that don't work. I just bang on them 
until they do.

I'll be doing it all over again since this install is so jacked up.
It won't boot (init: ureadahead-bla), didn't find the PVR-150's when it 
finally did. Timeout waiting for nxt2004 to init. didn't connect to the 
network, etc... etc...
So, time to flatline it and start over.

Just think, I was going to do all this during an 8 hour break in the 
recording schedule yesterday.
