Why would an appliance need updates? We discussed this not long ago
when someone broke their Myth install applying updates. Once it's
working, don't mess with it. If an update is needed to address a
really horrible bug, they can temporarily attach a USB drive.

This is due to the sub-optimal EIT code in Myth. Per the -dev mail
list, a developer is already working on refactoring this for 0.24 so
that the EIT crawler only crawls a configurable 1-4 times per day
instead of constantly.
