  It is your system, and ultimately your choice.  I had so much trouble
with myth under openSuSE that I moved over to Ubuntu rather than keep
fighting things,

  I have no idea if there exists a Master Package List for Ubuntu, or if
there are threads in Ubuntu forums with scripts to suss out such a list
and install missing packages.  Might be easier than doing a complete
re-install and update.
