Try this:
/

ps -e | grep myth # to get ps of mythbackend
kill ( ps of backend )
/
It looks like the backend is starting before other
processes are stable.
The above forces a auto restart of the backend.
IMHO networking is pretty badly screwed up in 10.04, 9.10 was fine.
