I was thinking that. I have the V4L rpm installed for the vanilla kernel 
so the cx88 modules are in that tree in /lib. In the course of my 
testing I noticed that the Nova-T (cx88) cards worked when running that 
kernel. Although, again I haven't investigated why, the ivtv device 
didn't appear to work running that kernel despite it's .ko files being 
there....
