[mythtv-users] Atom + ION: DDR2/800 vs. DDR3 1066?

Sorry for yet another hardware advice question, but my Google foo wasn't
strong enough to find the answer on my own.

 

I am a MythTV virgin who is planning to build a dual channel HD DVR. I want
to use an Atom board for space and heat reasons. Most Atom/ION motherboards
support DDR2/800 memory, like this one:

However, a few are available that support DDR3/1066 like this one:

The system will receive input from a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-2250 Dual Tuner,
and drive a TV at 1080i via HDMI. I don't care about Flash performance, just
TV.

 

Is there any point in paying more for DDR3? Or will DDR2 meet my needs?
