I have your exact setup (mythbuntu 9.10/ revo 1600 - using JYA repo
with 0.22-fixes though)..

I have 3GB ram in it with 512 for video - no issues here using
alsa:hdmi for the output device..  I have all of the latest patches (I
think I checked yesterday)..
