[mythtv-users] Any way to tell which tuner card might be bad?

Yeah, NAS boxes suck. You need to build a real server if you want decent
speed. Even an old P2 will be able to do better than that NAS. Throw Myth on
there and make it the master backend and you're good to go.

I'm not familiar with the bitrate of the cards you are using, and they might
be configurable. My recordings are done via HDHR, so it wouldn't be enough
for my uses. For SD, maybe, I doubt it though. Do you not have space in the
backend for another HDD? That would be the best way. A decent internal HDD
should be able to sustain 80MB/s+, though seeking will hurt you with 3
recordings + commflags going. But again, at SD bitrates, you should be fine.
