[mythtv-users] Trouble with VFD

Hi,

I having alot of trouble getting an antec veris elite vfd/ir combo to work under ubuntu karmic.
I can get the ir portion to function with no problems, but cannot get any sign of life from the vfd.
it has a device id of 0x0044

After configuring lirc and lcdproc I end up with a dmesg output of :

if I try the echo 'Hello mythtv... command with any combination of lcdproc and lirc running, with the lirc_imon driver loaded i get:

-bash: /dev/lcd0: Permission denied

run either as user or as root.

Any ideas?
