The latest (beta) of Oracle (nee Sun) VirtualBox runs OSX guests under
OSX hosts (single CPU only it appears for now), The first time I built
myth I used a clean 10.6.3 + latest XCode VM, this built mythfrontend
just fine, may be worth a go?
