I was having trouble with my on-board soundcard's SPDIF (sound frequently
dropped out), so I bought an ASUS Xonar DS 7.1 card. I had to upgrade ASLA
to 1.0.23 (a nice script for that is here:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1046137), but I'm happy now.
