The sky isn't falling.  There are at least 2 developers interested in
MythMusic, Daniel just wasn't aware of that fact and their reasoning for
not doing the Qt3 -> Qt4 conversion yet.  They wanted to wait until
rewriting MythMusic to use the new libmythui library rather than doing a
Qt3 -> Qt4 port on a bunch of code that was going to get ripped out anyway.

There is still some active development being done on MythMusic behind the
scenes.
