[mythtv-users] sms text / cell phone style text entry

Is there an option to use cell phone style text entry instead of the popup
virtual keyboard.  I see in some earlier versions of myth this was
possible.  I use a MCE remote to navigate through all of myth and never use
a keyboard however, since introduction of mythnetvision I find we are doing
more text entry and using a virtual keyboard takes forever.
