[mythtv-users] Mythbuntu 10.10 is loading the wrong nvidia driver -- I think?

I have an Asus P5N7A-VM MB and I just recently "upgraded" a perfectly
working myth set up.
I cant get HDMI sound, there is no iec958 in alsamixer.

Also, I noticed this message in the front end log:
Failed to open VDPAU backend libvdpau_nvidia.so: cannot open shared object
file: No such file or directory
2010-11-03 21:32:28.344 VDPAU Error: Error at mythrender_vdpau.cpp:1478
(#1, Unknown)
2010-11-03 21:32:28.344 VDPAU Error: Failed to create VDPAU device.
2010-11-03 21:32:28.344 VDPAU Error: No VDPAU device

Hua. I know my video card supports VDPAU, thats why I bought this MB:
03:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation C79 [GeForce 9300 /
nForce 730i] (rev b1)

So in the Xorg.log file I see xorg is loading the NOUVEAU driver. It's
logs indicate it's not for the 9x series:

[ 11.512] (II) NOUVEAU driver Date: Thu Aug 5 00:40:40 2010 +0200
[ 11.512] (II) NOUVEAU driver for NVIDIA chipset families :
[ 11.512] RIVA TNT (NV04)
[ 11.512] RIVA TNT2 (NV05)
[ 11.512] GeForce 256 (NV10)
[ 11.512] GeForce 2 (NV11, NV15)
[ 11.512] GeForce 4MX (NV17, NV18)
[ 11.512] GeForce 3 (NV20)
[ 11.512] GeForce 4Ti (NV25, NV28)
[ 11.512] GeForce FX (NV3x)
[ 11.512] GeForce 6 (NV4x)
[ 11.512] GeForce 7 (G7x)
[ 11.512] GeForce 8 (G8x)

What driver should I be using? How do I go about changing XOrg to use a
different driver, and where is libvdpau_nvidia.so??

Am I supposed to install the proprietary driver from Nvidia? I am under
the impression that is not the right thing to do.

Help!!
