Forgot to mention, I already did that.
Is there a database wide "search and replace" SQL command that I could
let loose on the garbled umlauts? I'm pretty sure some of them have an
unwanted effect because I can see that the descriptions with these
things get cut off or shortened around these thingys.

Looks like this:
Castle: Wer einmal l®.
The Closer: Letzte ¬ung

And it should say:
Castle: Wer einmal lügt.
The Closer: Letzte Ölung


Language can be a real PIA sometimes.
