Download http://mythbuntu.org/download/?file=mythbuntu-10.04-desktop-i386.iso (assuming your system is not 64 bit capable) and burn
it to a CD.

It continues to be unclear if mythbuntu has been sucessfully burned to CD (Although I haven't trawled through the whole new thread) 
and if so, how far it runs up.....      All the other higher level advice is somewhat esoteric until mythbuntu is booting for this 
guy.  (Presuming this line of advice is acceptable....)

Some frank advice Mike, if you were slower to take offence, slower to ask questions, quicker to report what you've actually done, 
and quicker to follow advice then I speculate that you'd be much further ahead by now.
