No.  There's never been a setting for that (and shouldn't be, as what 
happens when you hit a key is rightly a key binding, not a setting).

You just used to always get the MENU with the approach you used to start 
playback (hitting RIGHT).  Now you don't because you don't hit RIGHT 
because arrow key accelerators are gone and can't work in a flexible, 
mythui-based theming engine, so you start with PLAY or SELECT instead of 
MENU.

So, if you want the menu, start with MENU, and you're back to where you 
were.
