I hope you are not one of the unlucky ones who has the dreaded "quirky
USB chip". I tried to get a USB-based IR blaster to work, and basically
was told that i have a "quirky USB chip" and I'm screwed, so that was a
dead end because replacing the entire motherboard just for that is not a
viable option for me. However, the same "quirky" chip works fine with
two HD-PVRs. Go figure.
