You can use concordance to program it under linux. I use that for my
880. My 880 also has the same problems (and always has) with the
contacts not being close. I laid down a bead of solder over the
contacts on the cradle, and it has worked well for me. I have only
once had to re-bead one of the contacts when the solder fell off.
