I also use an Aspire Revo 3610 as a frontend. Initially I had choppy
video playback that seemed to be related to having CC on.
Disabling OSD fade seemed to have helped.  I also notice that CPU load
doubles during playback when CC is on.

On a related note, I had occasional stutter during playback when my
wireless connection did about 1.5MB/s sustained transfer. Tweaking
settings in my router helped increase transfer speeds to about
2.3-2.5MB/s
