Hello,

I've been trying out 0.24, and am getting lots of frame drops when using
VDPAU Slim playback profile, with h.264 content captured from an
HD-PVR. A snippet of my frontend log looks like this:

'video_output' mean = '16846.92', std. dev. = '8367.10', fps = '59.36'

The std. dev. is high, and the avg. fps is all over the place. In
0.23.1 it looked more like this:

2010-10-30 00:52:18.362 NVP(4): 69600 progressive frames seen.
'video_output' mean = '16682.85', std. dev. = '885.22', fps = '59.94'
'video_output' mean = '16683.08', std. dev. = '44.20', fps = '59.94'
'video_output' mean = '16682.75', std. dev. = '914.22', fps = '59.94'
'video_output' mean = '16683.11', std. dev. = '24.58', fps = '59.94'
2010-10-30 00:52:25.037 NVP(4): 70000 progressive frames seen.
'video_output' mean = '16683.19', std. dev. = '975.23', fps = '59.94'
'video_output' mean = '16682.91', std. dev. = '19.00', fps = '59.94'
'video_output' mean = '16682.48', std. dev. = '1030.77', fps = '59.94'
'video_output' mean = '16683.82', std. dev. = '3027.42', fps = '59.94'
2010-10-30 00:52:31.711 NVP(4): 70400 progressive frames seen.
'video_output' mean = '16682.29', std. dev. = '60.78', fps = '59.94'
'video_output' mean = '16683.77', std. dev. = '3569.43', fps = '59.94'
'video_output' mean = '16682.94', std. dev. = '66.55', fps = '59.94'
'video_output' mean = '16682.62', std. dev. = '1490.54', fps = '59.94'
2010-10-30 00:52:38.385 NVP(4): 70800 progressive frames seen.
'video_output' mean = '16682.93', std. dev. = '43.99', fps = '59.94'
'video_output' mean = '16682.55', std. dev. = '1582.62', fps = '59.94'
'video_output' mean = '16683.29', std. dev. = '47.31', fps = '59.94'
'video_output' mean = '16682.73', std. dev. = '214.85', fps = '59.94'

The std. dev. was lower, and the avg. fps was a nice steady 59.94.

I get the same results on all 3 of my FE machines (two are standalone
FE's, one is a combined FE/slave BE). A full mythfrontend log with -v
playback is here: http://mythtv.pastebin.com/uEsmyLFq

Anyone else noticing this with 0.24?

Thanks!
