They're too busy writing advertising push installers and other bloatware IMHO.

Although I think the worst bloatware I even saw was for a HP printer
that required a 220mb (no that's not a typo) driver installation
package, it included so much rubbish that I actually pulled it apart
when I got it and the driver section was only 12mb the rest was
unneeded rubbish.
