[mythtv-users] Mythbuntu Clean Install Help Needed

Background:

Due to issues post-upgrade, random crashes, modules not either working or configurable and a plummeting WAF, I've decided to go ahead with a 'Clean Install of Mythbuntu, keeping old database' as detailed on mythbuntu.org/upgrading page.

I've backed up the db, grabbed the MySQL password, even tarred up the /etc and /home directories, so that I can access any settings as required

One thing which isn't clear to me is the preservation of my existing Storage Group:

I have 2 x HDD, mounted at /var/lib/mythtv and /var/lib/mythtv2 respectively. These hold all my recordings, videos, fanart etc.
Should I physically disconnect these during the upgrade, then reconnect and mount afterwards?

Also I currently have the PPA autobuild repos enabled (0.23), plus multiverse and JYA's repos
Do I need all of these, or can I simplify the setup?

Thanks

John Haywood
