Some people have it working acceptably, but moving HD video over WiFi is simply not a good idea. Even if you get it to
work, there are so many things that can change, like neighbors acquiring new gear, a cordless phone, a microwave oven or
many other things.
Granted it sounds like the Apple has a better situation with WiFi than the Ubuntu box, you can't assume that will remain
true.
Use copper wire, it's a LOT more reliable.
