Very occasionally, my backend will also start emitting error messages
like this and all frontends become unresponsive, with the main visible
effect that the Watch Recordings list is empty. This tends to happen
when there are several simultaneous recordings, like 3 at a time, with
3 commflagging jobs happening at the same time. Restarting the
frontend doesn't help. Restarting the backend does.
I'm sure I'll start seeing a lot of these incidents next week when the
Fall TV season starts in full. I would love to know if there's
anything I can do to help diagnose the cause when it happens.
In the meantime, I added a menu item to the frontend main menu that
touches a certain file, along with a watcher on the backend machine
that restarts the backend when it sees that file, so that this
situation can be fixed from the TV.
