This is disturbing news, I have a MyBlaster and am planning an upgrade.

Are you using the serial version of the MyBlaster? Are you using a standard serial port or a USB-to-Serial adapter?

If you mean Myth 0.24, the perl script for the MyBlaster is not part of Myth itself, so I doubt it.

I'm wondering if this might help:

http://forum.codecall.net/perl/32081-help-needed-uninstall-perl-5-10-install-5-8-ubuntu-10-04-a.html

But AFAIK the script doesn't so anything unusual, it's pretty straightforward.

I think the answer is to solve the freezing problem, at least I have no intention of replacing my own MyBlaster, it just
works too well.
