[mythtv-users] Can't play recordings unless slave backend is running

Hi everybody,

I've got a strange problem. I have a master and a slave backend, with the
slave doing most of the recordings, and the master hosting the database as
well as all of the storage drives. I'm looking to reduce my power usage a
bit, so I'd like to turn off the slave when it is not recording or
commflagging.

Now comes the problem. If I try to play back a recording while the slave
backend is off, I get the following error:

2010-09-27 12:25:24.493 TV: Attempting to change from None to
WatchingPreRecorded
2010-09-27 12:25:27.515 RemoteFile::openSocket(control socket), Error:
                        Could not connect to server 192.168.0.1:6543
2010-09-27 12:25:30.519 RemoteFile::openSocket(file data socket), Error:
                        Could not connect to server 192.168.0.1:6543
2010-09-27 12:25:30.519 RingBuffer::RingBuffer(): Failed to open remote file
(myth://192.168.0.1:6543/2007_20100926160000.mpg)

In the above 192.168.0.1 is the ip address of the slave backend. The slave
does not hold the storage hard drives. The slave has the storage drives
mounted using nfs from the MBE. Is there some way to tell myth to play back
the recordings from the MBE (which is always on and holds the actual files),
instead of the slave?

Mark
