Is this a fully automated process? I rip DVD's that I rent and then leave them as ISO's until I want to watch them. If you can convert to a fraction of the size, keep the quality, and make it fully automated, I'd be interested to do that too!

I use Brasero to make DVDs locally
I then queue up the titles for transcoding in Handbrake.
This way I just rip dvds in the evening (taking a few minutes each)
and over the day the trancoding catches up... taking about an hour to
complete a film transcode to h264 (on a Intel Quad2Core Q6600).
