I can only say from a mythtv point of view: it's just a matter of
changing the Setup->General/Audio

Once you have found which HDMI device is the right one (it was DEV=0
for my GT430) ; then it will depends on your distribution. There's
usually a sound settings where you simply click on what the default
output device is.
