Thank you and everyone else for all the assistance.  Do you happen to 
know where I can find an idiot's guide to getting a snapshot of 
mythtv-0.24-fixes and getting it compiled?  According to 
http://www.mythtv.org/download, I can find instructions at 
https://github.com/MythTV but I do not see any such instructions.  I'm 
Googling now but not finding any success, probably because I don't know 
exactly for what to search.  But I'll keep trying.
